I’ve always loved how it felt like I was standing at a doorway saying “welcome” to so many women who were trying yoga for the first time, and who were listening inward in a whole new way.
But when I became a mom, everything changed. My practice no longer seemed to fit. My mind, heart, and body were all so different, and I felt I needed a different kind of yoga.
I turned the Yoga of Pregnancy weekend trainings into a full-on Yoga Alliance registered Prenatal School, incorporating everything that I had learned over the years that I felt was essential knowledge for every yoga teacher – and every mom.
The 85-hour Ma Yoga/ Yoga Alliance Certification Program will train you in:
- Understanding effective poses and philosophy for any time throughout pregnancy
- Applying principles of the Divine Feminine and co-creativity to pregnancy, yoga and life
- Therapeutic adjustments for common women’s aches and pains
- Anatomy of the Core, and the Ma Yoga I CAN Core Program for post-baby bellies
- Ayurveda for women
- Post-Partum “Anchor” practices, self-care, and core strengthening
- The Yoga of Labor
- Creating sequences, themes, and therapeutic practices for pregnancy and new motherhood
- Mom + Baby and Preschool Yoga
- How to create an evolutionary community to support non-judgemental, supportive relationships between mamas – and have a rewarding Mama Circle to go to each week!
Our curriculum is comprehensive, combines Eastern tradition and Western knowledge, and supplies you with the tools to easefully guide women in their childbearing years.
It arose from a program I created at Kaiser Permanente, a group visit and prenatal yoga program. For my clinical study for my Masters in Exercise Science, I created a 10-month curriculum that involved doctors, nurses, midwives, lactation consultants, and social workers.
Since then, Ma Yoga Certified teachers have created 10 Mama Circles in their own neighborhoods, and have helped over 5,000 women prepare for labor and motherhood, learn how to relieve their aches and pains, and use the challenges of this time to discover their authentic feminine power, wisdom, and nurturing energy.
We hope you will join our teacher tribe!
We learn as much for teaching mamas as they learn from us.
For locations and schedules of trainings, go up to Calendar. To find out all the requirements for certification, click on Certification. The 2 on-site trainings are Prenatal 1 and Prenatal 2. There is also an online teleseminar called MAyurveda: Living Ayurveda for Mamas.
Finally, you will be supported in our One-on-One Yoga for Mamas Mentor Program, and once you’ve completed the homework as well as taken some of a doula training or our online Yoga of Labor, you will have fulfilled the requirements for the Yoga Alliance RPYT.
And you will have the opportunity to start your own Ma Yoga class in your own neighborhood, with lots of support, coaching, and online marketing! You can also teach teacher trainings, become a mentor, and become a Ma Yoga doula.
Please email Jessica for a free 30 minute Prenatal Dreams and Visions call to discuss the program and different business opportunities!

At the end of this 85-hour training, you will have fulfilled the requirements to be a Registered Yoga Alliance Prenatal Yoga Teacher, as long as you have also completed your 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certification.
Throughout the training period and after, you will be in partnership with an open-hearted, loving group in which we will act as midwives for each other as we birth ourselves into our own authentic, Divine goddess Self, or “Ma.”
Thank you. When we shift Mamas, we shift families… when we shift families, we shift communities… when we shift communities, we shift our culture.
Can’t wait to evolve with you!
